The next episode of Glee is at least four months away, but the fall finale left enough water cooler conversation to go around and hopefully help pass the time. The highly anticipated finale was hyped well and there’s no question, it delivered.
What the Gleek Happened:
The show opened with a scene highlighted by a very “Bye Bye Birdiesque” phone conversation between the majority of the Glee Club Members, minus Quinn, Puck, Rachel and Finn. Concerned Finn might find out about Quinn’s secret and ruin the team’s chances…and rightfully so, that secret didn’t last long.
Rachel, using her “sixth sense”, finds out officially while over hearing a conversation which she sets up with a few clever words to Quinn. Knowing the truth, she reveals it to Finn…leading to a fight in the music room.
In short, Finn leaves Glee Club(again) and declares he wants nothing to do with anybody. Meanwhile, Will finds his replacement advisor for Glee club in Emma, who lies to Will when she says Ken is ok with her taking the kids to Sectionals. In reality, it’s the last straw in what one can hardly call a relationship, at least not a healthy one.
With Finn out, it’s news geek in(and instructed to sway in the background)…and they’re off to sectionals. Watching Will see the bus away, you could clearly see how heartbroken he was that he couldn’t go.
At Sectionals, team McKinley finds out their set list was leaked. I admit, I was tempted to almost believe Jane Adams Academy would NOT use the songs suggested to them…too good to be true I suppose. Once I had listened to the second soundtrack for Glee, I officially knew otherwise.
With their set list completely ruined, the Glee club was in shambles and didn’t know what to do. This actually was kind of irritating, considering the wide array of songs they’ve done throughout the year. You’d think they would have pulled out a ballad in “Defying Gravity”. When the team struggles to come up with a third song after deciding to open with a Rachel Ballad (Don’t Rain on My Parade) and close with, Finn makes his heroic appearance.
Thanks to some inspiration from Will and his car keys (which he leaves for Finn following a rousing speech), Finn suggests the group does a variation of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”.

It’s safe to say all three songs were well done. Rachel’s entrance and version of “Don’t Rain on My Parade” was spectacular, though some Gleeks around the internet are citing that it really doesn’t technically count as a ballad. “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” came off as one of the best group songs of the year…though I admit; their version of “Don’t Stop Believing” is still my favorite.
Soon after, we meet the judges in their quarters. I didn’t expect this scene, but it was hilarious. The three judges simply didn’t seem to know much about music and one cited not even knowing what a show choir was until three hours ago. Ultimately, they decide to pick the group they disliked the least…
Before the judges do decide, Jane Adam’s Advisor shows up to apologize and to tell the judges what Sue did. Though we don’t see her do it, we’ll later find out the results of the competition…

Following the Sectionals(no results known to us just yet at this time), Will is getting ready to attend Emma’s wedding. His wife comes home early and he lets her know…he “used” to love her. Can he find that love again. He isn’t sure.
At Emma’s wedding, no one is there but Emma. Turns out Emma didn’t go to Sectionals for the kids…she went for Will. She tells him she’s sent her resignation in. She can’t stand to look at her former fiancĂ©e after what she’s done to him and she can’t handle looking at Will everyday as it breaks her heart.
As she goes to leave, Will tells her he left his wife. She lets him know that’s true, but he JUST left his wife…
Next, we find Will and Sue in a familiar location, Principal Figgins office. Sue tries to defend her actions and quickly leave the room, as usual…but this time, Figgins stands up to her. Sue’s actions finally have a consequence as she is suspended and fired as the Cheerio’s coach. Soon after leaving Figgin’s office, Sue lets Will know she’s awoken a sleeping giant and to be ready for horror…
Will arrives back at the music room to find a nice surprise; a Sectionals trophy. The group adds to the surprise with a musical number, “My Life Would Suck Without You,” If you actually watch the number, you’ll see a bit of every musical number from the past half of the season. It’s well done and the song makes Will realize his life would suck without Emma.
Now, I’m not normally a fan of the whole “kiss her, kiss her” moment. This was a unique scene, however, and I actually was happy to see Will finally kiss Emma. And just like that, the end and the wait for April begin.

Sue: You'll be adding revenge to the long list of things you're no good at, right next to being married, running a high school glee club and finding a hairstyle that doesn't look like a lesbian.
Will: But the wedding is on Saturday. Your wedding…
Emma: I know. We just pushed it back a few hours. Now it doesn't have to happen in broad daylight.

Sectional Judge Donna Landries: Those Jane Adam girls, I'd be damned if I'd given a portion of hundreds of thousands of taxpayers dollars to that school so they can parade their behinds like a bunch of hoochie hoes.
